About Jagoff sauce
JagOff Sauce started the way most good Pittsburgh ideas do — in a kitchen, with too much food on the table and somebody saying, “you know what this needs?”
The original sauces were created by a Pittsburgh-born saucier who spent years experimenting with heat, sweetness, garlic, smoke, and just enough attitude to make things interesting. What started as a sauce for family and friends quickly turned into something bigger and eventually hit store shelves across Western Pennsylvania, reaching over 60 local retailers, and is now available online for all the jagoffs that have migrated out of the Steel City.
The first bottle ever sold went out the door the day after the Pittsburgh Steelers won the Super Bowl in February 2006. Some people call that timing. Around here, we call it destiny.
Today, JagOff Sauce is proudly carried forward by a small group of Pittsburghers, five in total, all born and raised in the Burgh. Four still call Western Pennsylvania home, while one has been reluctantly relocated to Seattle, where he lives under constant emotional distress from exposure to Seahawks and Mariners content. (He survives on a strict diet of Fubo subscriptions, Pittsburgh sports highlights, and local Steelers bars, because no one travels better than Steeler fans!)
We’re a mix of family, friends, and food obsessives. Two of us are father and son, and getting to build something together has been one of the most meaningful parts of this whole journey. Another original partner remains with us today, helping guide the brand back into stores and kitchens across the region.
We are also proud to be partially veteran owned, with service and discipline playing a meaningful role in how we operate, though at our core, we’re just Pittsburghers who care about doing things the right way.
More than anything, we’re food people. We get together when we can, crack open a few beers, fire up wings on the grill, and argue about which sauce goes on what. (The answer is usually “all of them.”)
JagOff Sauce isn’t just about heat or flavor, it’s about Pittsburgh. The kind of place where food is better when it’s shared, opinions are loud, and nobody’s afraid to put sauce on something they probably shouldn’t.
And honestly?
That’s exactly how we like it.
